Position:
 Urban Growler Brewing Company is looking for kitchen staff to join our team.
Location: St. Paul, MN

Who We Are:  Located in St. Paul, Urban Growler Brewing Company is the first woman owned microbrewery in Minnesota.

Who we’re looking For:  Cooks, that have good time management skills, follow food safety guidelines, and are able to read tickets. We are a small kitchen that is continuing to expand both menu options and in size of operation. If you want to join us on the adventure, read on.

What you should have:

  • Ability to read line tickets and recipes

  • Experience in preparing and presenting menu items consistently and timely

  • Engaging personality with great communication and teamwork skills

  • Good understanding of quality assurance and control

  • Personal attributes – honest and hard-working with a passion for food and quality.

Event Representative

 Position: Urban Growler Brewing Company is looking for an experienced part-time Event Representative that fits with our team. 

Location: St. Paul, MN.

Who We Are:  Located in St. Paul, Urban Growler is the first woman-owned microbrewery in Minnesota. Our beer is handcrafted in 10-barrel batches. We make traditional beers like our CowBell Cream Ale® and non-traditional with a local twist through our Plow to Pint® series like Rhubarb Wit.  We sell beer in our taproom and distribute kegs and cans. We have two new private events spaces that vary in size (50 people-150 people).

Are we right for each other?  We are a busy and growing business!  Our party spaces are booked several times a week with various events that vary in needs.  We are looking for an awesome person to be the point of contact during the events & maintain our high guest service standard level.  Setting up events, bartending, bussing and cleaning up after the events will be part of the daily tasks. Schedule will vary - some weekends and weeknights will be required.  The ideal candidate possesses a high level of integrity, passion, energy, a positive attitude, the ability to adapt to different situations, a strong work ethic, and a mindset for teamwork. What we are looking for someone, not just anyone that has/is: 

  • Hard working, ethics with integrity and logical problem solving techniques.

  • A personality that is warm and welcoming.  You have exceptional customer service skills and you are able to authentically represent Urban Growler.  You know our story and love our beer.

  • Self-motivated and have the ability to work with limited amount of direction both independently and as part of a team to accomplish goals.

  • Strong communication, organization and time management skills, be a strong team player with a winning attitude

  • Knowledge of draught systems, basic beer knowledge and point of sale placement are desirable

  • Previous banquet serving experience is a big plus

Daily Tasks Include:

  • Setting up, maintaining, and tearing down private events

  • Pouring/serving draught beer & preparing non-alcoholic beverages

  • Checking ID’s of beer drinking guests to ensure MN Legal Drinking Age

  • Collecting cash or tabulating drinks served

  • Greeting guests & quickly act upon requests or complaints from guests; refer serious problems to management staff as appropriate

  • Prepare kegerator & bar, food station, and room with appropriate supplies

  • Organize tables, maintain bathroom cleanliness, maintain buffet cleanliness, and station for service

  • Communicate any additional meal requirements or special requests to the kitchen

  • Work with kitchen to ensure food order is correct and set out

  • Ensure plates & beer glassware are properly cleared and bused in a timely fashion

  • Monitor cleanliness and proper sanitization of tables, stations and service areas

  • Great conversational skills and teamwork-oriented

  • Positive outlook and outgoing personality

  • Previous banquet serving experience is a big plus

The other requirements: 

  • The Team Member must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally may lift or move up to 165 pounds safely using proper equipment. The bartender position requires the ability to climb, lift, reach, bend, stoop, push, pull, and kneel for extended periods

  • Ability to work in dimly lit environment

  • Workdays/schedule may vary or change according to event scheduling needs. You may be asked to work occasional weekends and special events.  Two-Three Weeks notice will be given for schedule

  • Must be at least 21 years old

  • Must be able to utilize technology such as cell phones, tablets/computers, handhelds and the internet

  • Must be able take direction from others and work independently
