Archival Story: Recap: Green Line Launch (a.k.a. the Perfect Storm)

June 14, 2014

Short of a tornado funnel touching down in the middle of the parking lot, the weather couldn’t have been worse for the Green Line Launch

But did people make the best of it? Oh yeah!

What an exciting time to live in the Twin Cities as the Green Line unites our beautiful downtowns!

Prior to the gale force winds shutting down our tent at the Raymond Ave Station, we walked around “Are those any good?” we asked. EVERY response was positive! We even had people come back from other stations saying, “We were told to come back and buy a Pork Carnita!” One group said they bought food at every station and the carnitas were the best food they tried.

So, was it worth enduring the Perfect Storm? Absolutely!

We got people excited for Urban Growler, not just for the beer but for the food as well.

Back at the brewery we gave tours from 10am to 5pm. People love the industrial yet warm atmosphere and our newest addition to the merchandise cart – the baby onesie – almost sold out. Baseball shirts – just in time for the All Star Game – were a hit as well.

The winner of the private tasting and tour for 6 was Matt Wagner! Congratulations, Matt, and we will see you soon!
