Young Dance is thrilled to host our 5th Annual Build-Your-Own Miniature Golf Gala on Saturday, April 18 from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Urban Growler Brewing Company in St Paul.
Basic Event Details:
Date: Saturday, April 18, 2026
Time: 1:00–4:00 p.m. (Building) & 4:00–6:00 p.m. (Gameplay)
Location: Urban Growler (2325 Endicott St, Saint Paul, MN 55114)
Theme: Out of This World and Into the Next
Suggested donation: $15 per person (pay-what-you-can)
The build (1:00 to 4:00 p.m.): This unique event invites children and adults alike to tap into their most creative selves. With the support of onsite sponsors, Urban Remodeling and 2459 No Mythic First Robotics, individuals and teams spend the first three hours of the event building a golf hole, which together make up the course. Young Dance and sponsor organizations, including Urban Remodeling and The Costume Collective, provide basic materials, such as cardboard, tubes, paint, fabric, and wood, but builders are encouraged to bring additional supplies to realize their vision inspired by this year’s theme: Out of This World and Into the Next! Folks are invited to pre-register to build using this link.
Pay-to-play (4:00 to 6:00 p.m.): At 4:00 p.m., the course opens to the public for gameplay. Choose your own price to participate, with a suggested donation of $15 per person. All proceeds directly support Young Dance's mission of transforming lives through movement by expanding access to its inclusive dance programming. A reduced sensory space will be available for builders and players.
Some families spend the entire afternoon with us, building a hole first and then staying to play the course. Others arrive at 4:00 or 4:30, grab a beer or snack from Urban Growler, and take their time playing the course. It’s really a choose-your-own-adventure kind of an event, which is part of what makes it so special.
Costume Contest: Builders and players are encouraged to wear their most creative Out-of-This-World-inspired costume for a chance to receive the “Best Costume” award.
Join the Fun and Make a Difference: Since 1987, Young Dance has worked to transform lives through movement by fostering an inclusive community where creativity flourishes. This year, we serve over 500 students of all abilities, aged 0 to 100, at our studio hub in St. Paul and an additional 10,000 through community events and partnerships.
